Birchbox: January 2012

Ahh I'm so late on this post but for the record I do recieve my Birchboxes by the end of the month if that makes my belated post on January's Birchbox any better. Well guys, sorry to break it to you but this is my last Birchbox post, I'm not sure if anyone really enjoyed them but I guess it's nice to see what products come with it if any of you were interested in possibly subscribing to Birchbox. I decided to stop because in all honesty, none of the products I received were really that great to me or even worth 10 bucks after thinking about it. I am more into makeup and nail products rather than skin care products because I have my staple skincare products that I use and the ones I receive in my Birchbox are extra randoms that get thrown in my drawer. Don't get me wrong, I do use them but none of them really interested me enough to purchase them. Birchbox does give you makeup products every now and then but not as much as I'd like. I may start up another beauty subscription service and that is My Glam Bag but so far it has been all sold out so up until it's available I am done with sample beauty product subscriptions.
So as far as January's Birchbox goes, it is okay. I received a body butter, a moisture intensifier, a magnet, a green eye liner, a sample perfume, and a fruit/nut bar. The body butter smells like roses which I'm not too much of a fan of but it seems like it will be nice and moisturizing so I will be giving it a go when I start wearing shorts more (I only use body butters when my legs are showing) because I don't use body butter on a regular basis. The moisture intensifier will be interesting to use on my drier days, the magnet is just well..a magnet and the green Stila liner is nice and creamy and I am not much of a green kind of girl but I will attempt to wear green liner because of this. I also got a Viva La Juicy perfume which I have yet to smell and a fruit/nut bar which tastes good yet weird. Does that make sense?

The products I received in January's Birchbox:

~BORGHESE
CuraForte Moisture Intensifier
The card describes it by saying "This serum proves that sidekicks deserve recognition too. Apply before moisturizing or mix it with your favorite cream to help actives work harder."

~Juicy Couture
Viva La Juicy
The card describes it by saying "This scent will bring out your inner girly girl. Wild berries flirt with mandarin and soft floral notes to create a fragrance that's fun and happy."

~Jouer
Body Butter
The card describes it by saying "Ingredient snobs, take note. This rich formula softens rough patches like elbows, with pure shea butter, plus olive and avocado oils."

~Stila
Smudge Stick Waterproof Eye Liner
The card describes it by saying "It's time to put down the black liner. This colorful pigment makes eyes stand out and stays put for hours."

~LARABAR
Mini Bar
The card describes it by saying "You won't find artificial fillers in these natural bars: just dried fruits, nuts, and other wholesome ingredients. They're as tasty as they are healthy."

Birchbox: December 2011

So this months Birchbox was really cute. The tissue paper was white and sparkly unlike the regular hot pink tissue paper. This months Birchbox came much later than usual because of all the holiday shipping going on, I didn't think it was that much of a problem but because of the delay Birchbox gave all the members with delayed orders 100 Birchbox points which counts as 10% off of purchase of a full sized item. I'm not sure if I will make a purchase off of their site anytime soon but eventually I may. There were two errors on the card they sent with my Birchbox because it said I received a BeFine cleanser but I got a Benefit facial primer and it also said I got a hair oil when I actually got a body shimmer oil. I'm glad I got the facial primer rather than a cleanser though! The things that I'm most excited about are the Jouer lip gloss and Benefit Porefessional primer. Also, the energy booster drink will be interesting to try. Overall the products seem really nice and I can't wait to try them out longer.

The Products I recieved in December's Birchbox:

~Harvey Prince
Yogini Perfume
The card describes it by saying "Take a deep breath and relax with this calming scent. Notes of sandalwood, Egyptian myrrh, abd grapefruit will help you feel as good as you smell."

~Jouer
Moisturizing Lip Gloss in Birchbox Pink
The card describes it by saying "We teamed up with one of our favorite brands to create this custom fuchsia shade. Apply one coat for semi-sheer pigment, or build it for a hot pink pout."

~Benefit
The POREfessional
The website describes it by saying "Of all the beauty minefields out there, visible pores are one of the trickiest to dodge. Foundation alone doesn’t do the trick, which is why we turn to this translucent balm to shrink our pores. We can use it as a primer in the mornings or as a touch-up treatment throughout the day. Perfect t-zone, here we come."

~Nuxe
Huile Prodigieuse OR Multi-Usage Dry Oil Shimmer
The website describes it by saying "Subtle shimmer? Coco Chanel fabulous. Gaudy glitter, on the other hand — more like fashion faux pas. This Parisian brand’s iridescent oil strikes the optimal balance between sophisticated, fun, and just plain good for you. Six essential oils, plus Vitamin E, leave face, body, and hair soft and silky. Better yet, microscopic flecks of golden shimmer deliver a subtle glow, perfect to set off your favorite party frock."

~ShowStoppers
Designer Fashion Tape
The card describes it by saying "Celeb stylists swear by these double-sided tape strips, which will ensure that your party dress stays perfectly in place."

~EBOOST
Orange Natural Energy Booster
The card describes it by saying "Bounce back post-party with this tangy citrus energy booster, packed with a mega-dose of nutrients."

Birchbox: October 2011

This months Birchbox wasn't bad except it could have done without the laundry detergent but its no biggie. I got an amazing hair oil treatment, a cleansing cream, a bronzing primer, a lip serum (even though on the website it says I got a duo of a lip serum and exfoliater which isn't the case sadly), and a laundry detergent for delicates. I have always wanted to try some sort of hair oil like Morrocan or Argan Oil but never got the chance because it's so pricey but getting the hair oil treatment which contains Argan Oil got me so getty. That is probably the one product I am most excited to use but a lip serum is never bad to have either.

The Products I received in October's Birchbox:

~Orofluido Elixir
The card describes it by saying "We don't know what we love more - this hair treatment's trio of nourishing essential oils (argan, linseed, cyperus) or its intoxicating vanilla amber scent."

~AHAVA Rich Cleansing Cream
The card describes it by saying "A gentle, non-lathering cleanser that whisks away dirt, oil, and makeup faster than you can say 'non-drying'."

~Spackle Tinted Under Makeup Primer in Bronze
The card describes it by saying "This hydrating primer gives you a flawless foundation for makeup - plus a subtle glow. It works on all skin tones - we tested it!"

~Befine BeLips Lip Serum
The card describes it by saying "A lip-healing wonder: Befine's vitamin-rich Lip Serum heals and smoothes cracked or dry lips."

~The Laundress Delicate Wash
The card describes it by saying "Laundry just got a little more civilized. Use this elegant wash on all your special items.

Birchbox: September 2011

I guess this month makes it a year since Birchbox was first up and running and they made the inside of the box look cute with a little paper with like a sequence design.  This months Birchbox looks really good because of the nails, the lip treatment and the hand sanitizer. You can’t ever have too much hand sanitizer...or at least that's what I think especially when doing makeup! I'm most excited about the nails because they are just too cute with the cheetah design but we'll see how I do when applying those babies since I haven't even tried Sally Hansen's version yet.

The products I received in September's Birchbox were:

~Incoc Nail Polish Appliqué
The card describes it by saying "We all have a wild side. Eye-catching nail strips are the latest trend - try them on your fingers or toes."

~Jouer Lip Enhancer
The card describes it by saying "Why settle for plain 'ol lip balm when you can hydrate, plump, and condition all in one go? Right, we thought so."

~Jurlique Moisturizing Hand Sanitizer
The card describes it by saying "A must for any urban adventure, Jurlique's sanitizer neutralizes bacteria with Australian mint and hydrates with safflower oil."

~LIV GRN Natural Eau  de Parfum
The card describes it by saying "Made from sustainable ingredients, this bright scent is laced with orange and neroli. Plus, ten percent of sales go directly to Global Green, an environmental non-profit."

~Birchbox Friendship Bracelet
The card describes it by saying "Wear it to show off your Birchbox pride!"

Review of August 2011's Birchbox:

~Befine Night Cream
This night cream doesn't contain any harsh chemical which is great and it has a gel like texture. I haven't noticed much of a different in my skin tone but if you’re looking for something to make your skin soft and moisturized this is a great night cream.

~Blinc Water-Resistant Mascara in Black
This is very natural looking mascara and when I say natural I mean NATURAL. It does absolutely nothing for length and volume; it basically just darkens your lashes which some people do like. It also doesn’t hold a curl so this is not good for all those girls with the lashes that naturally go straight out like mine.

~Kate Spade New York Twirl Perfume
This perfume smells really nice; it has a floral, girly scent which I really like and I might consider purchasing the full size version.

~Lift Lab Lift & Fix High Potency Solution
I am not sure why I received an anti-aging product in my birchbox because I didn't put my age in the age group that uses these types of products. I didn't use this so I just gave it to my mom.

~Twistband Hair Tie
This hair band is nice and tight but it doesn't hurt to take off or put on which it's really convenient.

Birchbox: August 2011

This months Birchbox was okay, it wasn't completely bad but it wasn't amazing. I got six things, one being an anti aging product and two being a hair band. I'm pretty sure I put that I was 18 and younger so I'm not sure why they would send me an anti aging product? Also, a hair band? Not sure why I got a hair band…I was really hoping to get the Smashbox Photo Finish Primer but I didn't get it so I was a little bummed. I am glad I got the face scrub because it seems interesting since it has brown sugar and cocoa in it.

The products I received in July's Birchbox were:

~Befine Night Cream
The card describes it by saying "Upgrade your nighttime routine with this lush cream - cocoa spurs circulation, while rice bran keeps skin supple and healthy."

~Blinc Water-Resistant Mascara in Black
The card describes it by saying "This game-changing mascara encases your lashes in a thin tube of water-resistant formula that won't smudge, smear, or run."

~Kate Spade New York Twirl Perfume
The card describes it by saying "This flirty scent is a fresh update on the classic fruity floral."

~Lift Lab Lift & Fix High Potency Solution
The card describes it by saying "An anti-aging serum with a PhD - LIFTLAB's molecular biologists spent years perfecting a patented natural protein that strengthens and regenerates cells.

~Twistband Hair Tie
The card describes it by saying "This soft elastic gives the hair tie a sophisticated makeover - it looks as good on your wrist as it does in your hair."

Review of July 2011's Birchbox:

~Ahava Mineral Hand Cream
This hand cream was really nice. It had kind of a light moussey texture which I liked, it was also a little greasy when I first put it on but it absorbed in my hands quickly. Overall, I really like this hand cream.

~Philosohpy Purify Made Simple One-Step Facial Cleanser
This is such a raved about cleanser that I expected it to be amazing but it really wasn't. It was just another cleanser to me, it didn't make any acne or blackheads disappear. My skin stayed the same so I wasn't impressed and I wouldn't pay 30 bucks for a full sized one.

~Redken Shine Flash 02 Glistening Mist
This shine mist does give lots of shine but I am careful when I spray it on my hair because its not hard to put on too much. Sometimes I just apply it to my hands and just apply it on my hair that way. I don't usually use shine spray but I do like using this one.

~Zoya Touch Collection Nail Polish in Shay
I love this nail polish! I had never used a Zoya polish so I was excited to try this one out. It is such a gorgeous peachy pink metallic nude polish. It's one of my favorite nudes now.

~Kind Almond & Apricot Bar
It was kind of interesting getting food in my birchbox since usually it's beauty products being sent out. It's an apricot and nut bar. This bar is for those people who just like to eat healthy things because it really doesn't taste that great.
