Prom Makeup/Hair/Dress

So my prom was in late April I believe and I decided to do my own makeup because why waste the money when I really don't have to? I did however have my hair done professionally because hair styling is definitely not my strong suit. As for my dress I'm not really a fan of the whole blinged out or poofy dresses so I was looking for something simple but different. Originally I found a dress by the brand For Love and Lemons that was Ivory and whimsicle looking but then it ran out of my size before I could order it so I had to look for something new. I stuck with the brand just because I loved all of their stuff and how the designs in stitching they create are so beautiful and intricate. I eventually found the dress I wore and I loved it and how unlike everyone else's dresses it would be. I debated for a little while whether I wanted the ivory version or the black one and I decided to go with the black one because I felt the ivory one may not look dressy enough for prom. I have to say I loved this dress and still continue to love it and I don't regret one bit wearing a dress that you wouldn't necessarily think prom when seeing it!
For my makeup I decided to do a golden eye just because I thought it complimented my dress and I wasn't wanting anything too dramatic. I still wanted to look like myself! The pictures I took of just my eye was actually a practice run for my makeup because I wanted to make sure I actually liked what I planned on doing to myself. The eye makeup is a little different from the other picture of  y full face only because I added a bit more black in my outer corner on the day of Prom because I thought it looked better. One other difference is on the picture of my eye I used House of Lashes falsies in Noir Fairy and on prom I used the Ardell Natural lashes. I just decided I didn't want to heavy of a lash to wear that night because I'd be wearing them for a long period of time. Those were the only two differences in the pictures though!
For my hair I had found a picture of Nicole Richie from some award show and I really loved how the hair styles gave her a braided headband out of her own hair and created a messy updo. When I went to the salon I showed the girl the picture and it turned out how I expected! I was really happy with how it came out and I think the updo was appropriate for the dress I wore because there was so much detail on the chest area. I wanted to show that off which is why I decided to have my hair up and I think it was the right decision.

Purple Cut Crease Eye

I'm back! I hadn't even realized I neglected my blog for so long till I noticed the last post I put up dates back to a year ago! Well I know I keep saying I'll start posting more often and then I disappear for another 6 months and then reappear again with the same statement but this time I mean it, I'm here to stay. I really lost the interest to keep up with my blog but I kept my interest in makeup still. Instead of posting makeup looks to my blog I just posted them on Instagram so the only people seeing them were my classmates whom probably don't even care to see my makeup looks as much as my followers do. I decided to start putting up some previous looks I have done and haven't published onto her because 1. It'll give me a head start with a few makeup looks already done and 2. I've done some makeup looks that are BY FAR much better than anything I've posted here in the past. You'll see the looks progress as I post them in order of which I did first and I hope you all enjoy seeing them! I also have changed a couple things about my blog 1. The name 2. The layout (which may continue to change as I tweak it till I'm satisfied with the look) and 3. I have a job! The job part has nothing to do with my blog but I thought I should just update you all on some thing about me as well. If you're wondering about the name of the blog then the only explanation I have is that sunflowers are my favorite flower and for some odd reason I like to include them in my name for social media and now my blog.
Okay so even though I've already said enough I still have some explaining to do about this very purple look I did I believe around 7 months ago. Basically I was really mesmerized by the look of a cut crease at the time but it seemed nearly impossible to me that I could achieve it. Well, I tried it for the first time here and I have to say I don't think I did too bad but I definitely have some improving to do. This is a pretty bold look and the purple really does bring out my brown eyes, it isn't my favorite look that I've done but since it was my first shot at a cut crease I thought I should publish it for you all. Oh and a lot of the looks I have done are only on one eye for my own convenience(laziness) but there is one with a full face too. Hope you like it! And don't worry, this isn't the last of me!

Champagne and Teal Smoky Cat Eye Look

So I decided to make up my own look for the first time because I hadn’t seen any new makeup looks I cared to recreate. I also didn’t do an intro for this video or an ending because well... I forgot :p But I doubt those are really important for a video anyways and I just might not add them in on purpose for future videos because it saves time! Who really cares for intros anyways? But back to the look! The eyes were a champagne on the lid, a deep glittery teal on the outer portion (Looks black in the video & pictures but I assure you in person it looks like a deep teal), winged liner in the outer corner and inner corner, black rimmed eyes, and spiky fake lashes. For the face, it was just a natural mauve shade and for the lips it was glossy nude pink lips. I hope you enjoy!

Birchbox: January 2012

Ahh I'm so late on this post but for the record I do recieve my Birchboxes by the end of the month if that makes my belated post on January's Birchbox any better. Well guys, sorry to break it to you but this is my last Birchbox post, I'm not sure if anyone really enjoyed them but I guess it's nice to see what products come with it if any of you were interested in possibly subscribing to Birchbox. I decided to stop because in all honesty, none of the products I received were really that great to me or even worth 10 bucks after thinking about it. I am more into makeup and nail products rather than skin care products because I have my staple skincare products that I use and the ones I receive in my Birchbox are extra randoms that get thrown in my drawer. Don't get me wrong, I do use them but none of them really interested me enough to purchase them. Birchbox does give you makeup products every now and then but not as much as I'd like. I may start up another beauty subscription service and that is My Glam Bag but so far it has been all sold out so up until it's available I am done with sample beauty product subscriptions.
So as far as January's Birchbox goes, it is okay. I received a body butter, a moisture intensifier, a magnet, a green eye liner, a sample perfume, and a fruit/nut bar. The body butter smells like roses which I'm not too much of a fan of but it seems like it will be nice and moisturizing so I will be giving it a go when I start wearing shorts more (I only use body butters when my legs are showing) because I don't use body butter on a regular basis. The moisture intensifier will be interesting to use on my drier days, the magnet is just well..a magnet and the green Stila liner is nice and creamy and I am not much of a green kind of girl but I will attempt to wear green liner because of this. I also got a Viva La Juicy perfume which I have yet to smell and a fruit/nut bar which tastes good yet weird. Does that make sense?

The products I received in January's Birchbox:

~BORGHESE
CuraForte Moisture Intensifier
The card describes it by saying "This serum proves that sidekicks deserve recognition too. Apply before moisturizing or mix it with your favorite cream to help actives work harder."

~Juicy Couture
Viva La Juicy
The card describes it by saying "This scent will bring out your inner girly girl. Wild berries flirt with mandarin and soft floral notes to create a fragrance that's fun and happy."

~Jouer
Body Butter
The card describes it by saying "Ingredient snobs, take note. This rich formula softens rough patches like elbows, with pure shea butter, plus olive and avocado oils."

~Stila
Smudge Stick Waterproof Eye Liner
The card describes it by saying "It's time to put down the black liner. This colorful pigment makes eyes stand out and stays put for hours."

~LARABAR
Mini Bar
The card describes it by saying "You won't find artificial fillers in these natural bars: just dried fruits, nuts, and other wholesome ingredients. They're as tasty as they are healthy."

Christmas Beauty Haul

So this Christmas I got quite a bit of beauty products as you can see which means lots of reviews! yay! All of these producs either came from my mom, dad, sister, brother, my aunt or my other aunt. This wasn't everything I got but I didn't feel like putting in clothes and anything else random in here because it is already pretty big of a haul so I stuck with just beauty products. I still have two more products coming, the Coastal Scents Blush and Concealer Palette but I wanted to get this haul up so I decided to just leave them out because they aren't coming till next week. I am so excited about the BH Cosmetics 120 Palette because of all the bright and fun colors and of course the NAKED Palette, do I even need to explain why? I have wanted the NAKED Palette for about a year now and I asked for it last Christmas but because the demand for it was so huge it was sold out of any Sephoras near by so I just waited to get it because it's so expensive and I'm so excited I finally have it! I am excited for everything else too but I was most excited about those two palettes. I have to get busy using everything now so I can get reviews for you guys on most of these products but obviously it's going to be some time till I review these poducts just because I need to use them for a good amount of time. Also, sorry for the not so great quality pictures, I was at my dads and decided to take the pictures there and because of the low light I had to use flash which never looks good plus the red background looks kind of wierd.

The Products I got:

~Urban Decay's The NAKED Palette
Gorgeous neutral palette which is great for everyday use and also smoky eyes. Everyone knows about it so I don't even need to explain.

~BH Cosmetics 2nd Edition 120 Palette
Bright and fun colors, a mix of mattes and shimmers. I can't wait to do crazy makeup looks with this palette!

~Makeup Forever Aqua Cream in 15
A gorgeous shimmery taupy brown water proof cream eye shadow.

~Stila Lip Glaze Trio including Grape-fruit, Sea Shell and Raisin
This is a gorgeous lip trio but Grape-fruit has a very unpleasant taste

~Britney Spears Perfume in Circus Fantasy
I know some people don't like Britney Spears perfumes but I think some of them smell really good and this is one of my favorites. I'm not sure how to describe the smell because I'm no good at smells but I have gotten compliments on it so that tells you it does smell good. If you're curious about it just go to the beauty section of Target and in most they have it there to smell.

~Olay Pro X Advanced Cleansing System
I had been wanting the Clarisonic for a while but because the cheapest one I could find on Amazon retails for about $120, I thought that was extremely pricey so I opted for Olays dupe. This one goes for around $26 on Amazon so that is quite a downfall and I had seen good reviews on it so I really wanted it. Obviously it isn't going to be better than the clarisonic but I think it will do. I've used it once already and it definitly is something to get used to but I do like it a lot.

~ULTA Nail Polish in Capri Coral
This is a gorgeous coral polish, It will be gorgeous on my toes during spring when I start wearing sandals again.

~NYC Quick Minute Nail Polish in Prince Street
It looks like a really pretty medium purple with not a shimmery finish but it has a sheen to it. I'm not sure what the finish would be called.

~Lancome Juicy Tubes in Moulin Rose
This is a pretty creamy pink lip gloss.

~Lorac 3D Liquid Lustre Shimmering Top Coat
I am in LOVE with this product. So my sister and I were at Sephora just browsing around two days before Christmas Eve and I came across this and I tested it on my hand and showed my sister and I thought it was the most gorgeous thing ever because it's basically gold and silver shimmers and she ended up getting it for me right before Christmas!

~Lancome Hypnose Drama Mascara in Excessive Black
This mascara makes my lashes look so dark and full, I love it! The one bad thing is that it doesn't hold curl so I have to use a mascara that does hold curl under but that's alright with me because this makes my lashes look gorgeous after.

~E.l.f Studio Eyeliner and Shadow Stick in Basic/Brown
This duo comes with a beautiful bronze cream eye shadow and a brown eye liner, both are a bit metallic.

~Avon Naturals Body Lotion and Shower Gel in Pomegranate & Mango
I haven't used these yet but they smell really nice.

Mini Fashion+Beauty Haul

I just have a little haul here, not a lot of stuff but I just decided to show you guys what I got anyway! So I have been hearing so much about the eos lip balms and I just couldn't take it anymore and had to get one to see for myself. I ended up getting the pink one in the pink sorbet flavor, I've heard its limited edition but I'm not 100% sure because it says nothing about it on the packaging. The flavor wasn't as amazing as people made it sound but it was still alright and the formula is a bit waxy but I don't find it as a problem. The next thing I got was the NARS Pro-Prime Eye Lid primer; I had seen a post on a blog to receive this for free from the Sephora inside Jcpenny so I went ahead and picked it up. I have only used it once so I don't have any thing really to say about it just yet. I may or may not do a review on it, I'm not completely sure yet. Now last but most definitely not least I purchased a pair of gorgeous riding boots from Target! I have been wanting boots for winter for the LONGEST time and finally got a pair! No joke, these were exactly what I envisioned in my mind when I was thinking about what boots I wanted. I had seen a lot of boots with buckles and studs on them but all I wanted was a zipper on the side and a little heel and that’s exactly what I got. I had tried a lot on at the mall but they were all huge around the leg on the top part of the boot which discouraged me from buying a lot but these ones were not perfectly fitted around my leg but they were small enough for me to be secure wearing them, if you get what I mean? The pictures don't serve the boots much justice but I'm sure you will see how gorgeous they are in an OOTD sometime in the future.

Rite Aid & Wal Mart Beauty Haul

A little while ago I went to Rite Aid and Wal Mart and picked up a few beauty items I needed and wanted. I'm a little late on the crackle/shatter band wagon but I wanted to wait till it was on sale or I could get a coupon because it was around six bucks which is kind of pricey. I got a Rite Aid coupon for $3.00 off of the Sally Hansen Crackle Polish so I knew I just had to get it because I really wanted the black one and I got the last one left which was lucky! I also needed a plain black polish and the Wet N Wild polish was on sale for .69 cents so I just picked one up from them and when I saw that teal and green glitter polish from Sinful Colors I just fell in love and had to get it. I picked up 100 full cover false nails just because I thought polish over false nails looked better than over my natural nails. Then, I got two Degree deodorants because they were on sale for a $2.00 up reward when you bought two so after paying four bucks, I got a $2.00 off anything at Rite Aid coupon. I wish they would have just taken the 2 bucks off of the purchase instead of giving me two dollars off my next purchase because I don't go too often and it is kind of misleading. Then I went to Wal Mart which wasn't the best experience but I guess that's what I should expect when going to Wal Mart...I picked up a Kiss Acrylic set because I wanted to start to do acrylic nails instead of paying thirty bucks at a salon and it was only 8 bucks so that was awesome. Then I got the Revlon Grow Luscious Plumping Mascara in Blackest Black which is water-resistant because I really wanted to try this mascara.

What I bought:
